By Mark Mangie. During the court hearing on motions filed by Michael Cohen relating to his seized files, it was revealed that Sean Hannity might have been Cohen’s client in addition to Donald Trump. Hannity denies it saying he only had casual conversations with Cohen relating to his opinion on some real estate deals. Cohen was never retained or paid anything. The left-wing press went nuts…and so it goes. As the Disney song says: “It’s a small world, afterall.”
The faux outrage from the press is laughable. I have written numerous times about the incestuous relationship between folks with political power and the press. The players are interchangeable depending on what party is in office at any given time. Not only do these folks work together moving back and forth freely, they are related to each other through marriage or through direct family ties. The most blatant example is the president of CBS News, David Rhodes, whose brother is Obama adviser and confidant Ben Rhodes…you know…Americans are ignorant, and the press is an echo chamber.
All of this leads me to the bigger question. Who runs America? I have theorized based on no specific knowledge, just casual observation, that maybe there are 500 people tops that have a say in how this country is run. And among those five hundred…there might be around 50 that have the super power. That includes media, religion, industry, technology, and government.
Even among those who have achieved the presidency, family ties often go back to George Washington and Thomas Jefferson. Barbara Bush passed away this evening. Her maiden was Pierce. Yes…related to Franklin Pierce who was a former President of the United States. As the commercial said this past election cycle, since 1980 there has been a Bush or a Clinton involved in every presidential election up to and including 2016. That is a long time for dominance of two families. And they accumulated lots of power.
So how many people were in the Bush/Clinton circle? We don’t know, but one can assume it is quite a few who, through money or other political support, either kissed up to them or controlled them through campaign donations. It was a tight little circle, deeply entrenched and rooted. I can tell you who wasn’t in that group of elite people who controlled the country, Donald Trump. He was the rich playboy buffoon that was worth a lot of money, but never made the cut.
Donald Trump wasn’t supposed to win the election. But he did, and the walls that were so carefully and skillfully built around the Bush/Clinton power base began tumbling down. It isn’t pretty. The incestuous relationships between industry, government and media has been torpedoed. Their biggest fear isn’t that Trump will destroy what they built, but he would discover how they built it. It is that fear that you are witnessing today. They pulled the nuclear trigger…energize their base within the intelligence agencies, the Justice Department, and the press.
Mueller, Comey, and Rosenstein are chained to the Bush/Clinton power structure. Any world different than that world, which has been in control for almost 40 years, is inconceivable to them. It is evil. It must be destroyed. The level of fear and paranoia is palpable. Mueller’s referral of the Cohen investigation to the Southern District of New York division of the Justice Department is tantamount to Hitler’s counter-offensive in the Battle of the Bulge, a list ditch effort to stop the advancing Allied army. It failed, sealing the fate of Germany. Likewise, it will be with Mueller’s efforts.
You can play games in naming who runs America behind the scenes. Outside of the government structure they will continue to run America. Commerce and industry are making book with Trump; or is it the other way around. I predict that sometime in the future the media will also. They aren’t there yet. When they do get there, it will be more of a détente than a lovefest. Trump has withstood everything and everybody that has been thrown against him. He is still standing with an approval rating of likely voters at 51%. As each day goes by, the Bush/Clinton powerbase disintegrates a little more. It will be interesting to see what the replacement will look like.
