By Mark G. Mangie – Today marks a low point in the United States press…a concerted effort led by the Boston Globe to bring down the President of the United States after two years of brow beating from the press the likes of which have never been seen before in American history. Press coverage of the duly elected President of the United States has been 98% negative. The bulk of it has been factually wrong. Too much of it has been made up. All of it is sensationalized to the point people have stopped listening. It is particularly unsettling to the 63,000,000 people who voted for him because this same press had its head so far up Barack Obama’s posterior even the jaws of life couldn’t pull them out.
For those who are smart enough to realize what is going on and get their news from sources other than NBC, ABC, CBS, CNN, MSNBC, the New York Times, and the Washington Post, it is particularly disheartening when they watch these supposed news organizations, turned political advocates for progressive politics and the Democratic National Committee, collude with a corrupt Department of Justice to feed a phony Russian collusion narrative to the American public.
Ben Rhodes, former advisor to Barack Obama, shared how Progressives view the American public and the American press.
“The average reporter we talk to is 27 years old, and their only reporting experience consists of being around political campaigns… They literally know nothing.” Thus they will believe what he tells them. He also tells friendly non-governmental organizations and think tanks what he is telling the journalists. Those outlets produce “experts” whose expert opinion is just what Rhodes wants it to be. These ignorant young journalists thus have quotes that look like independent confirmation of the White House’s lies. Here’s how Samuels describes the scene:
In the spring of last year, legions of arms-control experts began popping up at think tanks and on social media, and then became key sources for hundreds of often-clueless reporters. ‘We created an echo chamber,’ [Rhodes] admitted, when I asked him to explain the onslaught of freshly minted experts cheerleading for the deal. ‘They were saying things that validated what we had given them to say.’ ” (From the Federalist, May 9, 2016 – Ben Rhodes Reveals How Obama Duped America Into The Dangerous Iran Deal by David Reboi)
The greatest scandal in American history involving the FBI, the CIA, Homeland Security, the Justice Department and the Attorney General, is breaking in front of the eyes of anyone who cares to look. It is a scandal in which those in charge conspired together to exonerate Hillary Clinton and frame Donald Trump to keep him from being elected or throw him out of office if he was elected. Dummied up dossiers and FISA Warrants and texts and emails show a tale that should send chills down the spine of every American. It was, and continues to be, a soft coup attempt to overturn an election by those who feel they are superior to the will of the American people. And the press has been silent…not a chirp…not a peep about the biggest threat to our country and our political system in my lifetime.
Donald Trump has finally stood up to the press which has raised whining to an art. Rude, unbearable, mean, nasty, divisive and liars…that is the American press today. All journalistic standards have been tossed to the wind as the New York Time gleefully declared prior to Trump’s inauguration that it was no longer its job to report the news objectively. It was their job to get Trump out of office.
Trump called the press the enemy of the people. A free press is the hallmark of our American system. We need a strong and vibrant free press to call those in authority to account. But this press, in this particular moment in time, is due for some heavy duty examination. They are free to print anything they want. They are not free from being criticized for it by anyone, including the President of the United States.
Since the time of the Vietnam War, I have watched the press lose its primary job of objectively reporting the news to become political advocates of the worst kind. Their phony indignation at Trump calling them out is laughable. Americans have lost all trust and faith in the news they are reading and watching. Trump isn’t a danger to them. We have a Constitution, which they detest, to protect them. To paraphrase a famous quote…they have met the enemy, and it is them.
