It will be marked as one of the most stunning elections in American election history. Donald Trump’s campaign was a tour de force. It was Trump against the Hillary Clinton. It was Trump against Republican Party establishment. It was Trump against the media, print and broadcast, which overtly and biasedly supported Hillary Clinton. It was Trump against debate moderators who fed questions in advance to his opponent. It was Trump against the pollsters. It was Trump against the United Nations. It was Trump against the Pope. It was Trump against everyone but the American people who swept him into office in an Electoral College landslide.
In my world, people celebrated. People cried. People hugged each other. People smiled and laughed…something America hasn’t done in eight years. In the process, Donald Trump defeated the single most crooked person to ever run for the presidency in the history of the Republic. He defeated an elite establishment that had turned America into a playground for ideological and financial graft and corruption.
Progressivism is an aggressive cancer on the world. It is insidious, virulent, intolerant, violent and rooted in the muck of Social Darwinism. Look to the streets of America with the little snowflakes marching to protest the very system that allows them to march in protest. America’s elite universities were offering puppies and chocolates and crayons to university students who were upset by the election results. Trump is going to blow up the world. Trump is going to put Muslims in internment camps. Trump is going to rip children away from their mothers. Trump is going to ally himself with the KKK. Who are these people? Do they really believe what they are saying? Who teaches them this garbage? Who teaches them to hate?
On November 8 America dodged a bullet. It dodged a future of being chained to political correctness and submission to the all-knowing left. America threw off the shackles of guilt. America said all lives matter. America said our lives matter. America reaffirmed the values of hard work and individual responsibility that has made it great. America said we are more than a collection of sub-groups divided over and over again to be pitted against each other. We are one people.
And at CNN, the litany continues. The newest clever word is white-lash. This was a racist election because America hates black people and Muslims. It is white America seeking revenge. Hey…Van Jones…white America put Barack Hussein Obama in the White House for eight years. How racist can it be? Maybe it has just had enough of calling people names.
This election was about enough is enough. Enough corruption. Enough sanctuary cities. Enough of the destruction of rule of law. Enough of boutique issues masking the bigger issues. Enough political correctness. Enough demeaning of our culture. America is hurting. It is suffering economically. It is suffering with rising health care costs. It is suffering with bad schools and violence. And the government gives it transgender bathrooms. Enough is enough.
Nobody knows the kind of president Donald Trump will be. But if his first four days as President-Elect are any indication, he will be one of the great ones. He will make conservatives angry. He will make progressives angry. If he does that, then he has done his job doing what works, not what ideology demands.
